Football leagues in the Nordic region saw a number of African goals over the weekend.

In the Swedish premiership, Liberian-born Peter Wilson scored the only goal for Sundsvall in a 2-1 defeat to Orebro in the 21st round on Saturday. Wilson raised the curtains in the 24th minute.

Nigerian striker Chinedu Obasi put Elfsborg ahead after 23 minutes and set up the second ten minutes later only to see Gothenburg come back to draw the match 2-2.

In the female premiership, Damallsvenskan, Nigerian midfielder Rita Chikwelu scored in the 17th minute as Kristianstad walloped bottom side Kalmar 4-0.

In Denmark, Sierra Leonean attacker Mustapha Bundu scored one and set up another as his club AGF suffered a 3-2 defeat to Horsens in a 9th round tie.

Midtjylland, second on the table, collected full points after dismissing league leaders FC Copenhagen 3-1 with Nigerian Paul Onuachu scoring and Awer Mabil of Kenyan ancestry serving as provider. The Superliga’s top scorer Senegalese Dame N’Doye grabbed the consolation for Copehagen to register his 7th goal of the season.

In the 22nd week of the Norwegian Elitserien, Ivorian Daouda Bamba broke the deadlock after nine minutes for Brann in a 3-1 win over Haugesund. He set up the 3rd goal in the 62nd minute.

Lowly-placed Ik Start beat Lillestrom 3-0 in a match which saw Nigerian Adeleke Akinyemi hitting the net after just five minutes.

Liberian international Sam Johnson grabbed his 8th goal of the campaign when he pounced in the first half for Valerenga in a 3-2 win over leaders Rosenborg.

Senegalese midfielder Babacar Sarr hit a brace in the both halves as Molde trounced Kristiansund 3-2.
