Sarfo joins Swedish champions in record deal
Ghanaian midfielder Kingsley Sarfo has joined Swedish football champions Malmo FF in a deal said to be the biggest between two Swedish clubs.
Sarfo made his name in Sirius’ first match of the season – a 2-0 crushing of Djurgarden in which he scored twice in two minutes – and since then has been one of the players to watch this season – his first in the Swedish premiership. There were even reports that Sweden was interested in having the 22-year-old wear the country’s national colors.
“My goal is to win titles with MFF,” the player tells the club’s website after signing the 13 million kronor (about $1.5 million) deal, according to local football site, fotboldirekt.se.
I am very pleased that I signed a contract with Malmö FF. It’s a big club and plays the kind of football I like, Sarfo adds.
Malmo’s sports manager Daniel Andersson is satisfied with his new signing. He notes that the Ghanaian is an interesting technical player with a nice left foot. Andersson adds that Sarfo is extremely confident on the ball.
