Liberian Independence day to be celebrated in Holland
The European Federation of Liberian Associations (EFLA), in collaboration with the Liberian Association in the Netherlands (LAN), proudly announces the joint 176th Liberian European Diaspora Independence Day celebrations in Amsterdam, The Netherlands (Holland).
According to EFLA Secretary General Francis Mensah, the three-day celebration will be held from Friday, July 28 to Sunday, July 30, 2023.
The occasion has a plethora of activities: the Greet & Meet, EFLA Annual General Assembly (AGA), elections of new corps of officers to lead the Federation for the next two (2) years, etc.
The official Independence Day program will include the swear-in ceremony of the newly elected officials, sightseeing around some historical sites and a famous place in Amsterdam and will be climaxed with a sumptuous grill & barbeque.
Prominent Liberian political actors from some political parties and eminent Liberian citizens from Liberia and the diaspora have been shortlisted to serve as the Keynote Speaker, Installing Officer, deliver special remarks, among other crucial roles to be performed at the celebrations.
The steering committee of the joint Independence Day celebrations will reach out to those political actors and eminent citizens to get their pre-consent and commitment to attend the celebrations.
This approach is carried out because EFLA does not want the re-occurrence of what happened last year when the Vice President of Liberia Madam Jewel Howard-Taylor and Finance Minister Samuel D. Tweah, Jr. disappointingly didn’t show up after agreeing to honor the invitation.
